Stockholm (16 March 2021) - Sportway and the Swedish Ice Hockey Association will enable 230 arenas in Sweden to be equipped to stream more than 70,000 games this 2021/2022 ice hockey season. An additional 68 arenas will have Sportways state-of-the-art production systems installed this spring, delivering automated video and data production using artificial intelligence (AI) to film, produce and broadcast live games throughout Sweden. Sportway's AI network represents the largest in Northern Europe for sports productions and provides clubs the opportunity to deliver high-quality coverage of all their teams' games via, where fans can access live streams and on-demand productions.

Together with their industry-leading AI live production partner Live Arena, Sportway's video productions are driven by an algorithm specially developed for ice hockey games. All of the action is captured using Sportway's fixed, unmanned cameras, which create a panoramic view of the entire rink. The patented AI technology then automatically follows the game by panning and zooming in on key action, providing a professional viewing experience. The technology can also be linked with the Swedish Ice Hockey Association's database and game secretariat to automatically generate real-time graphics, as well as replays and post-game highlights.

Sportway now has nearly 220 installed production systems across Sweden, Norway and Finland, with expansion planned across a wide spectrum of sports ranging basketball, volleyball, floorball, handball and other indoor sports.
