Sportway plans further expansion with installations across all Danish Ice Hockey Union arenas this season

Danish Ice Hockey to Be First Sport in Denmark to Stream All Levels of Competition

Stockholm (14 June 2021) - Sportway and the Danish Ice Hockey Union have announced a partnership to install state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) production systems in all ice hockey arenas across Denmark to replicate the success from equivalent projects in Sweden, Norway and Finland. The service will have seamless live streaming capabilities for all games, including men's Division 1 and lower tier leagues, as well as all levels of women's and youth hockey within these facilities.

This planned expansion contributes to Sportway's continued growth of the largest AI sports production network in Northern Europe and provides DIU clubs the opportunity to deliver high-quality live coverage through a joint play site, for all levels of their teams below Metalligaen. Additionally, selected National Team games for Women's and Youth divisions will be made available via Sportway's streaming technology.

"The partnership with the Danish Ice Hockey Union will help elevate hockey on all levels within Denmark by delivering access for players, families and friends to live stream games. As we continue to expand our premium AI production capabilities, our focus is on providing more opportunities for clubs to connect with their members, fans and supporters by delivering best-in-class technology and a premium viewing experience," said Daniel Franck, CEO, Sportway.

"The partnership with Sportway is - in all facets - a big step forward for the development of Danish ice hockey. We are moving into the future and are pleased to deliver every danish hockey game being played from next season to players, families, friends, coaches and other "stakeholders" in the Danish ice hockey world. We also believe that Sportway's platform will lift the player development in Danish ice hockey on all levels. It will be a valuable tool for coaches both in the clubs and on our national teams, said Thomas Bjuring, CCO, Danish Ice Hockey Union.

Sportway will further deliver value for clubs with an innovative module for game analysis and workshops on how to optimize player safety procedures by utilizing the video produced. Furthermore, teams will be equipped with Sportway's state-of-the-art coaching tool, the Team Account, to accelerate player development through data analysis and video coaching.

Sportway is an industry leader in delivering automated video and data productions using AI to film, produce and broadcast live games, ensuring premium content on a personal level for players, families and fans. Together with their industry-leading AI live production partner Live Arena, Sportway's video productions are driven by an algorithm specially developed for ice hockey games. All of the action is captured using Sportway's fixed, unmanned cameras, which create a panoramic view of the entire rink. The patented AI technology then automatically follows the game by panning and zooming in on key action, providing a professional viewing experience. The technology can also be linked with the Danish Ice Hockey Unions' database and game secretariats to automatically generate real-time graphics, as well as replays and post-game highlights.

Sportway plans to expand to nearly 500 installed production systems across Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark, which marks a 350% increase for installed facilities in the past year. Additionally, Sportway innovative approach is being tested across a wide spectrum of sports such as basketball, volleyball, floorball, handball and other indoor sports. Sportway strives to bring the power of live and on-demand video streaming to sports organizations everywhere, in order to ensure that all sports, on all levels, are available for everyone. These innovative production systems backed by Sportway's scalable business model help unlock a variety of benefits for participating federations, leagues and clubs, including additional revenue streams via subscriptions or pay-per-view monetization opportunities.
